Hughson High Class of 2018
It’s September which means senior portraits are in full swing. Ethan will be graduating from Hughson high this coming June, class of 2018, and stopped by recently for his senior portraits. After meeting with Ethan and his mom for a consultation we decided an outdoor session was the way to go and headed out to one of my favorite local spots. We had a lot of fun during the session, Ethan and his family are wonderful, fun, happy and an overall pleasure to work with. To make the session even better we had some wonderful light. You can’t ask for more. Good luck to Ethan on the rest of his senior year and the journey he’s about to begin.
Here are a few images from Ethan’s senior portrait session. I hope you enjoy.

Lily Ann Nelson | Modesto Newborn Pictures
It’s one of my great joys to be able to meet the beautiful babies of my past wedding couples when they come to the studio for newborn pictures. I photographed Cody and Ashleigh’s big day in May of 2016 at Vintage Gardens in Modesto. I was thrilled when Ashleigh told she was expecting and wanted to come by for newborn pictures when Ms. Lily finally arrived. We’d planned the session and the “signature” image I would create for Cody and Ashleigh about a month before Lily was due so I had time to get everything in order. In the end, Lily was 8 days late but completely worth the wait. She is absolutely beautiful and was a total joy to photograph at only four days old, the perfect age. The session was made even more special because we were joined by both sets of grandparents, Mark and Kim and Dwight and Beth. I love to see the happiness a baby brings to a family and Lily certainly has done just that.
The session was fun and as I mentioned Lily was wonderful. Below is a short highlight slideshow from the session and a few images. I hope you enjoy them and congratulations to the new mom and dad, Ashleigh and Cody.
Some images from the session.

Turlock Maternity Portraits
I had the awesome chance to photograph Erica and Candido’s maternity session recently at the always beautiful (even in the rain), Pageo Lavender Farm in Turlock, California. Erica and Candido are a very special couple and I’ve had the pleasure of creating images for them through all of their special moments the last number of years, from senior pictures to their wedding and now the soon-to-be of their little one, Regina. I can’t wait to meet her as she is sure to be as wonderful as her parents and extended family. For the maternity session we were greeted with a bit of weather, gray clouds and overall damp conditions as it’s been a very wet winter here in California. We made the most of it however, as Pageo Lavender Farm has many wonderful places to work. Below are a few of the images from our maternity session and the highlight slideshow. I hope you enjoy them.

Diablo Grande Wedding
It’s always a wonderful day when I can spend it with wonderful people, which means Lesley and Brice’s wedding was a spectacular one! Lesley and Brice both have truly great friends and family that are kind and fun to be around, it’s easy to see why the bride and groom are so cool 🙂 . The couple was married in Sacred Heart Church in Patterson, California before heading to Diablo Grand Golf and Country Club, which was the setting for the reception and also where the pre-wedding festivities of getting ready took place. It’s a wonderful venue and made the perfect backdrop for Lesley and Brice’s big day. It was such pleasure getting to create the images of their big day, I’m honored to have had the opportunity. Congratulations, Brice and Lesley!
And a few images from the day…
A special thank you to…

Cute Baby Portraits
Benjamin is one of the cutest little dudes you’ll ever meet, and certainly one of the happiest, a smile was on his face almost the entire session. He had recently turned 8 months and his dad and aunt brought him by for portraits to capture the love and smiles that is Ben. As with all my children and newborn portraits I like to create a signature image that is particularly special to the family in some way and will hang with joy in the home. For Benjamin we decided to do something with a hunting theme, not the easiest theme for a little one, but I knew we could do something cute and age appropriate. Take some hunting lodge decor, a cute lumberjack style outfit, put it all on one of my hand made backgrounds, include an adorable little guy, and here’s what I came up with.

Modesto Newborn Portraits
One of the great joys of my job as a professional portrait and wedding photographer is getting the call, text or email that one of my wedding clients will soon be welcoming a beautiful son or daughter into the world. It’s such a blessing to be able to meet them at only a few days old and create images that will be cherished for a lifetime. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Ricardo Rafael Alcala. What a wonderful little guy! He is such a happy baby with a perfect temperament which, if you know his parents, is just exactly what you would expect. We had a wonderful time during the session. I hadn’t seen mom or dad in a little while so it was great catching up. Even better, they brought a beautiful and really cute knit cap and diaper cover that worked perfectly with the look of some of the images. Loved It! Thank you guys so very much for letting me create the images of your new family!
Here are a few images from little Ricardo’s session, I hope you like them as much as I do…

Central Valley Newborn Portraits
After a bit of a long wait this cute lil’ guy, Bryston, finally decided to said “Hello” to the world on July 6th 2016. A few days later Mom and Dad brought him by the studio for his newborn portraits. I try to create what I call a “signature” image for all of my newborns; something that is unique to each session and incorporates elements that helps to tell their story as a family. Bryston’s dad was an All-American basketball player and played professionally overseas before coming back home to coach and develop at the youth level. Basketball is a large part of their lives so we decided to incorporate it into their “signature” image. I think it turned out beautifully and I can’t wait to see it displayed in their home. Leslie and Brice are wonderful and they have a handsome and sweet little dude in Bryston. I’m honored to have had the opportunity to create his newborn portraits and can’t wait to see him grow up. Here are a few images from the session.
