Ashleigh and Cody are a fun couple so I was really looking forward to their engagement session. They’ve recently moved back to the valley after spending some time in one of my favorite places in the world, Yosemite! Just as I had hoped I had a great time working with them at one of my local locations. We were greeted by overcast conditions which made for nice even light. Cody and Ashleigh will be getting married this spring at the the always lovely Vintage Gardens in Modesto. I can’t wait to create the images of their big day!

It’s senior portrait season for the class of 2016 and for a Modesto senior photographer like myself that means getting to work with some great clients. Speaking of which Courtney came by recently for her senior session. We headed out to one of my more popular locations and were greeted by some amazing light. Escalon senior photography
Last week I had the pleasure of creating Melissa’s senior portraits. Melissa will be graduating from Escalon High in June and wanted to do something outside so we headed to Knights Ferry for a great senior portrait session. We’ve seen an abundance of warm weather this year and it was another beautiful day filled with green grass (rare in this area) and beautiful clouds. Melissa did a wonderful job, fun and very natural in front of the camera. In addition to her solo images we also did a few pics with her brother and best friend, both of whom were wonderful.
I only photograph one session a day when we go outdoors because I want to make sure we’re on location only during the absolute best light and this was the perfect example as to why. The day ended with a killer sunset lighting up the clouds with hues of red, orange, blue and purple as the light changed. It was an awesome session! Here’s a few images…enjoy!

Modesto senior photography
Jessica will be graduating from Grace Davis High in nearby Modesto this June and came by the studio for her senior pictures just before Christmas. In addition is being a lovely young lady, Jessica is also a very talented soccer player, something we made sure to incorporate into her session. Jessica wanted to do something outdoors so we headed to the foothills for the beautiful views and stunning light…neither of which disappointed. Modesto Family Portraits
I don’t think anything quite transforms a house into a home like having portraits of your family hanging on it’s walls. Beautiful family portraits bring a smile to your face when you enter a room, it’s one of the many reasons I take so much time creating the perfect portrait for each of the family’s I have the chance to work with. Juleana and her sons, Jared, Justin and Jack came out with me to one of my favorite foothill spots for their family session a couple weeks ago. Jared came in for his senior portraits a couple weeks before and this family session was a great opportunity to create accent images of his brothers along with a main portrait for their home. The Rice’s are so great to work with, fun, easy going and photogenic (that’s always a plus)!
One storm had just moved through the area and another was on it’s way in as we prepared for the session. As luck would have it we timed things perfectly and we’re rewarded by some amazing clouds and a perfect sunset. Here are a few of the images from their session, enjoy!

Modesto Senior Pictures
I had the pleasure of taking Julia’s senior portraits the other day. Julia is a senior at Enoch High School and will be graduating this coming June. Julia’s mom and younger sister joined her for the session and they couldn’t have been nicer to hang out with for the afternoon. Julia is a natural in front of the camera and it really shows in the images from the session. We started in the studio and ended the session at one of my favorite outdoor locations where we were greeted with an absolutely stunning sunset and with beautiful warm colors that bathed the entire area in perfect light. I’ve become known for my images from certain outdoor locations so I like to change things up occasionally in order to continue to offer something new to my clients and keep things fresh for me as well. While Julia and I were walking the area we discovered a couple new locations with beautiful background vistas and took full advantage of them. I’ll certainly be adding these to my shot list for future sessions. It was a wonderful session with Julia and we created a number of beautiful images perfect for wall portraits, here’s a few images from the day.

Alexee Curtis – Enoch High 2015 – Modesto Senior Portraits
Alexee is a senior at Enoch high right next door in Modesto and stopped by the other day for her senior portraits. Alexee is a pretty awesome young woman and loves to sew, so we of course couldn’t miss the chance to work that into her session. She brought by her sewing machine and a beautiful quilt she made to be featured in a couple images. Luckily I had a few tailor/seamstress related items laying around that worked perfectly for the picture. I really like the resulting images and some of the nice details we added if you look closely. After our indoor session we headed outside where we were treated to some absolutely beautiful, warm light that highlighted the natural beauty of our location. It was a wonderful afternoon. Chelsea Johnson – Class of 2014 Senior Portraits
Chelsea will be graduating from Ceres High (class of 2014) in a few days and stopped by the studio for her senior portraits recently. Chelsea was wonderful to work with and very easy to photograph. We started in the studio before branching out to our outdoor location for some fantastic conditions and light. Crystal Briseno – CSU Sacramento 2014 – Graduation Portraits
While I photograph a lot of graduation portraits for high school seniors, we don’t tend to do that many for college seniors, why is that? Crystal will be graduating from CSU Sacramento (my alma mater) in May and thought the occasion should be marked by getting some awesome graduation portraits made. A Good idea in my book!
I had been in nearby Knights Ferry about a week before Crystal gave me a call photographing the beautiful wildflowers (we had a stellar bloom this year) and thought a couple meadows I “discovered” would make the perfect setting for Crystal’s graduation portraits. Hillsides covered in poppies and wild lupine are always good for portraits, right?

Senior Portraits
Brianna will be graduating from Orestimba High in Newman, California this coming May and came by the studio for her senior portraits recently. Brianna has a great sense of style and was a lot of fun to hang out with during our session, always a recipe for great senior portraits! We started with some indoor images in the studio before heading outside for the location portion of the session among the rocks and tall grasses of the nearby foothills, a great places for senior portraits.
